Bc Yellow Bird
Brassocattleya Yellow Bird
(Brassovola nodosa x Brassocattleya Richard Mueller)
This orchid comes from Rainbeau Orchids in Milton, GA. I love that it produces a lovely sweet aroma at night! When I bought it it was in full bloom but the roots were very dried out so I repotted it right away. I had to cut it out of its little net pot and remove all the dead roots. It’s still in bloom, but my sunroom is too cold and doesn’t get enough light for Cattleyas. When it’s done blooming I’ll put it on a heat mat under grow lights.

History and Features
The Brassocattleya Yellow Bird orchid produces large, showy blooms with delicate ruffled petals in vibrant shades of yellow, sometimes displaying subtle hints of green at the edges. A resilient hybrid orchid, it features strong pseudobulbs and typically presents multiple flowers on each stem, creating a striking display when in full bloom. As twilight approaches, the flowers release a sweet, intoxicating fragrance to attract night-pollinating moths, filling the evening air with their distinctive perfume.
